For my jewelry business I need a good camera for closeups. Here are my choices, plus a great lamp, scanner, and digital card reader.
Canon A70 Digital Camera
— The camera I use to take pretty darn good closeups of my jewelry! Easy to use and inexpensive.
Pentax Optio S4
— The camera I would have if I didn't have my Canon. Slim, and takes fantastic closeups with its Super Macro.
Nikon Coolpix 4300
— Coolpix cameras also have great closeup photography and would be another good choice for jewelry photography.
Lexar Compact Flash Reader
— Have gotten my money out of this many times over... a great workhorse for transferring your digital photos to your computer!
CanoScan LiDE 20 Scanner
— Easy to use, excellent scanner, now selling at half the original cost. Lid raises high for objects making it great for scanning jewelry instead of photographing it.
Ott Light
— Its nearly natural light helps you to work on projects that require color matching, such as making jewelry.
